Toyota has been putting out a lot of great cars and trucks. One of its best is the Highlander SUV. It is one of the top-selling midsize SUVs out there, and with the introduction of the new model it’s sure to experience even greater popularity. What makes this compact SUV so desirable? A few things: style, safety features, overall comfort, and above all else — utility.
It takes a while to wrap your head around a whole new car. Over the past three years, I’ve averaged just over 3,000 miles on my Highlander (maxed out well north of 4,500). This year, I’m nearly at that point at this point in 2018. If you ask anyone who knows me how often I drive the Highlander, the answer is “I don’t” or “hardly ever.” But that was never an issue for me until this past winter.
The Toyota Highlander is a mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV). There are four basic trim levels offered for the Highlander: Base, Sport, Limited and Hybrid. The base model comes standard with power door locks, manual mirrors and windows along with a tilt steering wheel and stereo CD player. The sport model has chrome alloy wheels, fog lights and touchscreen GPS navigation display. The limited upgrades the vehicles center console to leatherette as well as leather seats. The hybrid shares most of the above features with the sole exception of leather seats and keyless start.
