Multiplication is hard, but it’s also important. Multiplication worksheets are a great way to practice and improve your skills—for example, if you’re struggling with the division of fractions, which involves multiplication. If you can master multiplication first, then division will be much easier for you because it’s essentially just adding fractions (which is what you’ve already learned how to do).
Practice makes perfect! These free printable multiplication worksheets will help you get a grip on this essential math skill.
Math Square Worksheets
A math square is a grid with numbers in each cell. You can fill in the square with numbers, but you can also use figures or symbols to represent numbers.
Math squares have been used for centuries to help students learn arithmetic and algebraic concepts. In elementary school, these puzzles are typically used as practice for learning how to add and subtract two-digit numbers with regrouping. For example, if a student added 5 + 7 + 9 = 18 (or 592), they would fill in an “8” as the final answer on their math squares instead of writing out “9 + 2 = 11.” This allows them to practice making mental calculations without having to waste time writing out every step of the process.
In middle school, it’s common for teachers to use math squares as part of Sudoku-style puzzles that require students to find missing values within complex systems of equations involving variables such as “x.”
Division is the process of dividing one number by another. In this section, you will learn how to divide numbers using a division table.
Division can be used to find out how many times one quantity can be divided into another. It is also used to express the ratio between two quantities or groups of objects or people. For example: if you have 6 bottles of water and 4 friends at your house, each friend would receive 2 bottles of water (6 ÷ 4). We say that “two” is “divisible by” 6 and vice versa because when we divide 6 by 4 then we get 2 as an answer. The word “divisible” means you can break things up into smaller parts but still won’t run out; similarly with dividing something up into smaller parts leaves you with more than what was originally given (in this case, there are more bottles than friends).
