History of science fiction Pdf

I am writing to you in regards to a book I am publishing. I have spent several years working on this new text, History of Science Fiction. My goal is to write the definitive work on the history of science and science fiction; hence the two publications title.

 

The history of science fiction is one that stretches all the way back to ancient times, when imaginative tales of space and time were shared in fireside stories.

 

SCIENCE FICTION, the term that today denotes an interplay between literary crafts of writing and the creative imagination rather than a single genre, originated from Hugo Gernsback’s first science fiction magazine titled the “Amazing Stories”. It was with this magazine that Science Fiction started to come into existence. Though Jules Verne might have been one of the earliest creators of science fiction-based literature way back in 1864, it was Hugo Gernsback who gave the genre its new definition as a branch of literature. The magazine was started in April 1926 and soon gained popularity among readers all across America.
