The 1611 Authorized (King James) Version of the Bible (colloquially known as the Authorized Version, or simply King James Version) is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. First printed by Robert Barker, the King’s Printer, in 1611, it was the third translation into English to be authorised by the English Church authorities.
This is an OCR of the first edition 1611 King James Version. It contains Appendices (from 1769), & additions from the Scotch Bible, Menochius’ Hebrew New Testament and the Polish Brest Bible. You may note that verse numbers do not align with other editions of the KJV. This is due to the OT verses added from the Polish and Hebrew Bibles. The additional OT material does not have counted verse numbers; therefore verses were shifted accordingly to accommodate these additions. A combination of Times Greek font & unicode for non-roman characters was used to produce this OCR text, which has been proofed against a copy of the printed version.
